Violators of new sign bylaw will be fined

Councillors on the county’s roads committee discussed revisions to a new sign bylaw for Haliburton County during their June 12 meeting. The county has been conducting a sign bylaw review during the past year, which has included input from the public as well as staff and councillors.

Golf tourney chips in $120,000 for Minden

It was a wonderful display of what is possible.When the sun set, golfing complete and the Minden Flood Relief Golf Tournament nearing its end at the Pinestone Resort and Conference Centre on Saturday, June 15, the final tally of $120,750 showed how our community reacts to a crisis.There were 238 diners for the dinner and 192 golfers.

Duchene and Hodgson to host golf tournament

Pinestone Resort and Conference Centre has announced that Matt Duchene, Cody Hodgson and friends will host the Minden Flood Relief Golf Tournament at their facilities in Haliburton on June 15.

Growing economy a complex challenge

The county’s growth will depend on a multi-faceted approach; tourism promotion, of course, but also careful protection of the environment, better support of local industry and creating a distinct “sense of place.”

Longtime members honoured at AGM

About 50 people came out to Rhubarb restaurant in Eagle Lake last week for the annual general meeting of the Haliburton Hospital Auxiliary and to celebrate those who have dedicated decades to the organization.
