Police responded to the scene of a domestic dispute at a cottage after the woman fled her property and sought help in the early morning hours. She was treated for severe but non-life-threatening injuries at the hospital. Bancroft OPP will not identity the woman for her safety.
The man involved with the dispute was charged with assault, aggravated assault, mischief under $5,000 and also seven counts of failing to comply with recognizance, and four counts of failing to comply with a probation order. He was held for a bail hearing.
Bancroft OPP said the investigation is ongoing.
