One man arrested in Highlands East

On Wednesday, July 28 officers from the Bancroft detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to the report of a suspicious vehicle on a forest access road in the Municipality of Highlands East.
During the investigation police learned that the adult male driver of the suspicious vehicle had been involved earlier in an altercation with two other adult males.
Officers located the vehicle and arrested the male for assault with a weapon and mischief to property over $5,000.
The 49-year-old male of the Toronto area has been held in custody pending a bail hearing in Belleville on the July 29.
