Wilberforce driver and daughter suffer minor injuries after collision with moose 0

 The following is a press release from the Ontario Provincial Police on Wednesday September 12, 2012

(North Kawartha Twp., ON) – At approximately 8:04 P.M. Peterborough County OPP, North Kawartha Fire Department and Peterborough County Ambulance responded to a Motor Vehicle Collision on Highway 28 north of the Village of Apsley. A Subaru traveling north on Highway 28 had collided with a moose that had crossed onto the roadway. The two female occupants, the 40 year old driver and her 11 year old daughter both of Wilberforce suffered minor injuries and were transported to Bancroft Hospital by ambulance.The moose died as a result of the collision and the Subaru sustained extensive damage to its front end and roof.

Motorists are reminded to be aware of the high volume of wild animal activity between dusk and dawn and to be vigilant when traveling on all Peterborough County roadways.
