A Thornhill man has died after being pulled from Lake Kashagawigamog near Haliburton on Monday afternoon around 2:40 p.m.

Ayreh Aaron Wise, 33, was kayaking on the lake Aug. 27 when his boat flipped, Haliburton OPP says.

He called for help and nearby family and cottagers came to his aid. Despite performing CPR, Wise could not be saved.

He was taken to Haliburton hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

OPP, EMS and fire services all responded to the call.

Wise was not wearing a lifejacket.
